Hello, I'm Dan, founder of Managing on the Spectrum, Chartered Manager, registered Social Worker, and advocate for neuroinclusive leadership and workplaces.

My journey began in 2000, supporting autistic and learning disabled individuals in community settings before going on to train as a Learning Disabilities Nurse. Those early experiences shaped my understanding of the barriers and strengths that neurodivergent people encounter in everyday life. In 2010, I qualified as a social worker, where I’ve spent over a decade in frontline and senior management roles, driving change across adult social care.

Along the way, I earned an Masters in Business Administration (MBA) to deepen my grasp of systems, strategy, and leadership. I also became a Chartered Manager, a designation that reflects my commitment to excellence, ethical practice, and evidence-based leadership. It’s a standard I hold myself to and one I bring into every collaboration. Whilst I was completing my MBA, I received an autism diagnosis. Following my diagnosis, I attempted to find support and guidance for neurodivergent managers and realised that this there is very little. This has inspired me to found Managing on the Spectrum so that I can support other managers (and aspiring managers) who are neurodivergent.

Throughout my career, I have delivered training in a variety of settings to staff at all levels. I have presented at conferences and mentored staff who have a range of roles.

Through Managing on the Spectrum, I help organisations build inclusive leadership practices, rethink recruitment, and empower neurodivergent managers and workers. I believe systemic change starts with practical tools, honest dialogue, and a commitment to equity, not just empathy.

I also believe that neurodivergent individuals have untapped potential but often excluded from senior roles because of a lack of understanding from organisations. I am passionate about working with individuals to support them to achieve their potential.

Managing on the Spectrum is the result of that journey. It's a space where lived experience meets strategic insight to support neurodivergent professionals and the organisations that value them. Whether you're a neurodivergent professional navigating leadership, or an organisation ready to do things differently, I’m here to support that journey.

If this is you, let's have a discussion about how I can work with your on your journey.
