About Dan Wilkins
Neurodiversity Coach, Mentor & Trainer
My Story
I'm the founder of Managing on the Spectrum: a coaching, mentoring and training practice dedicated to helping neurodivergent professionals thrive at work and supporting organisations to become genuinely neuroinclusive.

I am a late-diagnosed autistic professional with a career spanning nursing, social work, and senior leadership in both the NHS and local government. I am a qualified learning disabilities nurse and a qualified social worker and I have held senior management roles where I have led teams, shaped strategy, and driven organisational change. In addition, I won the Inclusion Champion award at Wiltshire Council. I hold a Senior Leadership Apprenticeship and a Master of Business Administration.

I am also a qualified neurodiversity coach which means that when I work with clients, I draw on professional training, clinical knowledge, senior leadership experience, and the direct lived experience of navigating a demanding career as an undiagnosed, then late-diagnosed, autistic person. This combination is rare, and it matters.
The SURE Framework (TM)

My one-to-one coaching is built around the SURE framework(TM) , my own evidence-based approach developed from research and personal experience:

-
S — Sensory Awareness: Understanding how sensory processing affects your working environment, energy, and wellbeing
-
U — Unmasking: Exploring the cost of masking at work and building strategies to reduce it safely
-
R — Reframing: Shifting unhelpful narratives about neurodivergence and recognising your strengths
-
E — Executive Function: Practical, personalised strategies for planning, organisation, focus, and task management

Access to Work

Coaching with Managing on the Spectrum is fully fundable through the government's Access to Work scheme. I can support clients and employers through the process and I am happy to provide quotes and invoicing to meet Access to Work requirements.

I also deliver bespoke neurodiversity training for organisations, including Introduction to Neurodiversity, Creating Neuroinclusive Workplaces, and Neuroinclusive Recruitment.
