Managing on the Spectrum has been over 20 years in the making. Throughout my career I have worked with neurodivergent people. It started when I was 18 and I was a live-in carer for an autistic and learning disabled gentleman. For 12 months I was this gentleman's shadow and I witnessed first hand the struggles he encountered but also the fierce determination that he had to live independently.
This experience has led me to a varied career in nursing, social work and management but I still remember my year of living with this chap vividly. My own autism diagnosis in 2024 has led me onto a journey of self and professional discovery.
Fast-forward to now and I am still passionate about ensuring that everyone has equal opportunities. This is at the heart of Managing on the Spectrum, I want to advocate for those who cannot and educate so that we can have a society that is truly inclusive. If you share this belief, then please join me on this journey
